Something Old, Something New

Description:

This concert will consist of works whose composers based their pieces on works or styles that preceded them. therefore, something new has been created from something old: a theme from a piece that was written before, a reworking of an older piece, the use of "old" dance forms and old folk dances, and the incorporation of older styles of music. Each piece will be casually introduced before its performance and the above mentioned descriptions will be explained in regards to how they relate to each piece.
