Elizabeth Janzen, flute

A native of Newfoundland, Canada, Elizabeth Janzen is rapidly establishing herself as a prominent teacher and talented recitalist. She has studied in Toronto and New York, and has attended numerous summer festivals and workshops across Canada and the United States. In 2005 she was honored to work with Pierre Boulez and IRCAM in a New York performance of his composition "...explosante-fixe..." This spring Ms. Janzen was selected as one of 16 fellows participating in the new Carnegie/Juilliard/Weill Institute collaboration The Academy. Her work there includes teaching and public performances. Ms. Janzen is currently on the faculty of the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College Division.
