Carolyn Jeselsohn, cello

A native of Philadelphia, Carolyn Jeselsohn has performed throughout the United States as a soloist, chamber artist and orchestral musician. Ms. Jeselsohn has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Jordan Hall, Philadelphia Academy of Music, Severance Hall, among others. Highlights of the 2006-2007 season include a performance of Michael Shapiro's Variations on "Eliahu Hanavi" for solo cello at Manhattanville College and solo cello concert featuring music by Bach and Britten at Bloomingdale School of Music as part of the schools faculty concert series.

An avid chamber musician, Ms. Jeselsohn performs regularly with the Artemis Chamber Ensemble playing concerts throughout New York City and Westchester. In 2005, she performed Haydn's D Major Cello Concerto with Artemis making her NY solo debut. She has appeared with many ensembles including the Metamorphosen Chamber Orchestra, the Freebird Quartet and the Kalliope Quartet. Additionally, she has participated in many chamber music festivals and workshops including the Perlman Music Program, Soundfest, Yellow Barn, the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival, the Takacs Quartet Seminar, and Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival.

Ms. Jeselsohn started studying the cello at the age of 12. She received both her bachelor and master degrees at the Cleveland Institute of Music where she studied with Merry Peckham and Alan Harris.
