Chris Mannigan, saxophone Chris Mannigan grew up in northern New York, where he took up the alto saxophone at age ten. He studied composition, performance and theory at Syracuse University. Since moving to Astoria in 1998 he's been an active member of the jazz and improvised music community, and has written music for film and theater.
