| Alexandra Knoll, oboist, was born
in Zimbabwe and emigrated to South Africa at age ten. After
graduating from high school, she worked professionally for
two years in the Natal Philharmonic Orchestra. She is an
alumna of the Curtis Institute of Music and the Juilliard
School. Alexandra has played several seasons with the opera
companies in Santa Fe and Sarasota. In New York she enjoys
a busy freelance career and has performed with, among others,
the American Symphony Orchestra, New York City Opera, Brooklyn
Philharmonic, and Opera Orchestra of New York. She also enjoys
subbing on Broadway shows and playing in chamber groups such
as ADCA, the Sylvan Winds, and Berkshire Bach. |
