Alysia Lee, soprano

Alysia Lee is a native of Baltimore, where she graduated from the Carver Center for Arts and Technology and began her vocal studies with soprano, Ruth Skresz. She received a Bachelor of Music degree from the North Carolina School of the Arts. Ms. Lee received a Masters degree in Vocal Performance with a minor in Vocal Pedagogy from the Peabody Conservatory of Music of Johns Hopkins University under the tutelage of Stanley Cornett. Ms. Lee has earned distinction as the recipient of several scholarship and grant awards, including the Vittorio Giannini Scholarship, NCSA Career Development Grant, Chancellor's Award for Excellence, and a Peabody merit scholarship. Ms. Lee won her categories in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition in for two consecutive years and was a finalist in the Sylvia Green Competition. She has performed in numerous productions with the Peabody Opera Theater, Baltimore Concert Opera, Piedmont Opera Theater, and the A.J. Fletcher Opera Theater. Currently, she is preparing a recital titled, A Woman's Work—a celebration of female composer's vocal music output—presented at the Bloomingdale School of Music on March 28th of 2008. Ms. Lee is on the faculty at the Bloomingdale School of Music.
