Praised for his "precision
and expressivity" by the Chicago Tribune, guitarist Daniel Lippel
performs actively as a recitalist and chamber musician. Lippel's
recent Bach cd was featured as one of the "Best New Releases
from North America" in The Gramophone May 2006 issue. He has
performed at Carnegie Hall's Zankel and Weill Halls, Lincoln
Center's Mostly Mozart Festival, Miller Theatre, Merkin Hall,
Symphony Space, as well as venues in Chicago, Buffalo, San Francisco,
and Boston. Lippel has given solo recitals on the Trinity Concert Series
in New York, Guitars International Series at the Cleveland Institute
of Music, Music from the Forefront at Bowling Green State University,
as well as for the Boston Classical Guitar Society, and Ft. Worth Guitar
Guild, and has been a featured solo performer for the Harvard Group
for New Music, Look and Listen Festival, Friends and Enemies of New
Music, and New York Classical Guitar Society. He is a regular member
of the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) and the new music
quartet Flexible Music, and has performed with the Cygnus Ensemble,
Argento Ensemble, New York Virtuoso Singers, as well as on the Cooperstown
and Newburyport Chamber Music Festivals. Also active in non-classical
settings, Lippel has toured Europe, Japan, and North America with Fat
Cat recording artists, Mice Parade, and performs regularly with the
Zvi Migdal Tango Ensemble. Daniel Lippel received his Doctoral degree
