Robert Aitchison, painter Robert Aitchison was raised in Spring, Texas and received his B.F.A in Painting from the University of Texas at Austin. He has exhibited in Texas, New York, and Europe and his works can be found in private collections in the United States, South America and Europe. Aitchison most recently exhibited paintings at The Curb Art Space in New York City. In the past Aitchison has collaborated with artists on other projects including his work as creative director on Long Story Short (2001, Top Priority Productions), an independent film featuring Aitchison as a struggling artist. In 2001-02 Aitchison worked with dancers from Het Nationale Ballet (The Netherlands) and created a series of paintings based on ballet that culminated in an exhibition at Het Muziektheater in Amsterdam. In addition to his studio work Aitchison also instructs art therapy workshops for mentally ill adults and children and serves as an artist-in-residence in several New York City schools.
