Robert Aitchison, painter Robert Aitchison was raised in Spring, Texas and studied painting at the University of Texas at Austin. He has exhibited his artwork in Texas, New York, Holland, and Bulgaria, and his works can be found in private collections in the United States, South America, and Europe. In the past Aitchison has collaborated with artists on various projects including his work with dancers from Het Nationale Ballet (Holland). There he created a series of paintings based on dance that were exhibited in Het Muziektheater in Amsterdam. Aitchison is currently working with a group of New York based artists on an open source painting project. He is also preparing works for “Unframed”, a collaborative exhibition project set to begin in Fall 2008 in New York, Paris, and Amsterdam. In addition to his studio work Aitchison also instructs art therapy workshops for adults with mental illness and serves as an arts specialist for children with special needs.
