Summer
Study at Bloomingdale Summers at Bloomingdale allow students to customize a program to suit their individual goals and schedules. Returning students benefit from continuous lessons without a long three-month gap between the end of the spring semester and start of the fall term. New students can freely explore instrumental study without committing to a full-length 17-week semester as in the fall and spring. Summer 2008 at Bloomingdale offers students: Flexible scheduling. Going away for two weeks in the middle of the summer? Staying in NYC in July but away in August? No problem—Bloomingdale’s registration staff can work with you to customize a schedule that leaves you flexibility to travel in the summer months. You don’t have to choose between starting or continuing music lessons and going away—students can register for as few as four lessons and as many as eight. Music discovery in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The summer semester is the ideal opportunity for you to explore a new or second instrument, perfect a challenging piece, or expand your musical language through jazz or rock studies. Bloomingdale faculty members will structure lessons to your summer musical aspirations. Whatever your goal is for summer music study, Bloomingdale will work to meet your needs. We look forward to providing you with an enriching and creatively stimulating summer musical experience. Registration There are three ways to register at Bloomingdale School of Music: 1. Register online. 2. Register in person at the school. 3. Register by mail. Simply call the school to request your registration materials or go to the register page for printable versions of the forms. There is a nonrefundable registration fee of $10 for individuals and $15 for families for the summer term. Priority Registration Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. For the Summer semester, priority will be given to continuing students if registration materials are received by Thursday, May 15, 2008. The registration fee will be waived and lesson times will be held, when possible, if this deadline is met. Flexible Lesson Policy In order to accommodate families who may travel during the summer months, students are allowed to register for as few as 4 private lessons over the summer term. Arrangements must be made at the time of registration. Financial Aid To the extent that funds permit, Bloomingdale offers financial aid to qualifying students in the form of grants against tuition. Reapplication is required for the summer semester for returning students. Applications may be requested in person, by phone, or by download. Early applications are encouraged as funds are limited. Applications received prior to June 15, 2008 will receive priority. Program Cancellations Bloomingdale reserves the right to cancel programs with insufficient enrollment. Summer Withdrawal and No Refund Policy Registration obligates a student for the entire term. If withdrawal is prior to the second lesson and the student has paid in full, he/she will receive a 75% refund. All refunds are paid by check. The registration fee is nonrefundable. No other refunds will be made. |
