Adult Guitar Sunday

Bloomingdale’s Adult Guitar Sunday is an immersive one-day program designed specifically for adult guitarists of all skill levels. Participants will receive personalized instruction and insights from Bloomingdale’s distinguished faculty members, who are experts in an array of genres including classical music, jazz, rock, and Latin American repertoire. Whether you’re a seasoned player or a beginner, this program is designed to open your ears to new sounds and elevate your passion for the guitar.

The program will take place at the Bloomingdale School of Music on Sunday, July 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

What you will learn

Participants will explore a diverse range of repertoire and techniques through interactive workshops, masterclasses, and ensemble playing. The day will culminate in a casual, open-mic style closing performance followed by a community mixer.

MASTERCLASSES

Each participant will take part in a personalized masterclass with a member of the faculty, an invaluable experience that combines live instruction and coaching with the social element of performance and group discussion.

ENSEMBLES

Each participant will have the opportunity to rehearse and perform in a guitar ensemble along with their peers.

INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS

Faculty will lead workshops exploring diverse musical genres, playing techniques, and performance practice where participants will participate in discussion and practical application of musical concepts on their instruments.

Our goal is to make music education accessible and to remove the financial barrier that may prevent students from participating. Therefore, we offer need-based financial aid to as many students as possible.
