What you will learn
Participants will learn or further develop healthy singing techniques through exercises including stretches, breathing and body awareness, and a variety of vocal warm ups. We will begin by learning to sing several rounds, then move on to full songs that will include at least a two part harmony. The class objectives include learning how to sing in an ensemble, follow a conductor, gain an introductory understanding of reading music, and preparing for an end of semester performance. Repertoire will vary by semester and based upon participant voices. All voice types are welcome.
Supportive environment
Never sang before? Not a problem. This is a supportive learning environment with the goal of singing together.
Personalized Experience
Music will be chosen based on the voice types enrolled to allow for everyone to participate.
Performance Skills
Students will be working towards a final performance at the end of the semester, preparing multiple songs for public sharing.
We offer Need-based financial assistance
Our goal is to make music education accessible and to remove the financial barrier that may prevent students from participating. Therefore, we offer need-based financial aid to as many students as possible.
