What you will learn

Ensemble members will study character development, musical theater stylistic singing, and the history of musical theater. Basic singing skills such as matching pitch are required and the ability to read music is helpful, but no prior musical theater experience is necessary.

Audition Prep

We will come together once a week on Zoom and explore musical theater (MT) singing styles, MT history, exposure to new and lesser known shows, audition techniques for both in-person and video submissions. Students will get personalized repertoire assignments, healthy singing instruction, practice strategies and materials, and walk away with an audition video!

MUSICAL THEATER HISTORY

Students will learn about famous and lesser known Musical Theater composers, shows, and productions.

PERFORMANCE

Students will perform scenes and solos from the Musical Theater/Broadway repertoire for each other and culminate the semester with a final project presented over zoom to family and friends.
