What you will learn

Students in Applied Jazz Improv will experiment with a hands-on-instrument approach, they explore jazz standards and improvization while also learning how to speak with their fellow musicians. 

EXTENDED TECHNIQUE

Each student will receive individual attention as they study scales and patterns on their instrument.

SOLO JAZZ IMPROVISATION

Students will improvise over classic song forms and perform in “masterclass style” settings.

GROUP COLLABORATION

Students will engage in group ear training exercises, formulate short jazz compositions, and have their compositions performed by their peers.
