Classes For Early Childhood
Music and Movement
This class focuses on singing and dancing and introduces children to playing hand percussion instruments. Music and Movement helps develop coordination and prepares young ears for later music studies. Parents support learning by attending the class and extending musical study at home.
Bloomingdale School of Music will be completely virtual and will offer online learning options until further notice.
What you will learn
Focusing on listening and movement through the use of singing and age-appropriate sound makers, this class builds on Babies First Music Class. Clear brain and body connections are made and parents will have concrete tools they can use at home.
Develop Social Skills
Students will make new friends by engaging with peers through shared musical experiences.
Develop Dexterity
Using their bodies and voices, students begin to develop relationships to instruments and to each other. We create a safe environment for them to explore these relationships, supported by a community of other toddlers and their caregivers.
Ear Training
Through a process called Audiation, new ears start recognizing the shapes in songs via time signatures or melodic structure.

MUSIC EDUCATION CHANGES LIVES
We provide access to music education to anyone who seeks it, regardless of economic status, ability, ethnicity, or religion, which has a profound impact on individual lives as well as on our entire community.
We offer Need-based financial assistance
Our goal is to make music education accessible and to remove the financial barrier that may prevent students from participating. Therefore, we offer need-based financial aid to as many students as possible.
