Classes For Teens
Broad overview of various historical and stylistic approaches to performing rock music. Students will spend the initial few weeks learning about the history of the genre from its origins to the present day and then prepare a concert of repertoire to present by the end of the semester. Guitarists, bassists, drummers, singers and keyboardists welcome.
*Note: One year of experience on instrument required.
What you will learn
Participants will develop fundamental music skills in a workshop environment both as soloists and ensemble players. They will also learn examples from the canon and hopefully expand their listening skills as well. Participants will also develop a basic working knowledge of concert preparation, gear maintenance and tone production as it pertains to a rock environment.
