Director of Student Services

Amy Desiato

Amy has an extensive background in the performing arts and has enjoyed touring with national and international musical theater companies for over 15 years. Her performing journey throughout Europe, Canada, and the United States, as well as her education as Director of Student Services at Turtle Bay Music School, have given Amy a unique perspective on both the practical and aesthetic sides of the arts, which have developed in her an ear for deep listening, and a wholehearted understanding of, and appreciation for, artists, art students, and their art.

Amy is passionate about lifelong learning, and as her journey begins with the Bloomingdale School of Music family, she hopes to continue building on her decade of arts administration experience, continues working in joyful concert with colleagues and students alike to keep the highest quality arts education accessible to diverse communities, and continue helping students of all ages achieve their personal and professional learning goals.

Amy comes to Bloomingdale from a family rich in laughter and strongly believes in the benefits of good humor and not taking oneself too seriously. She values authenticity and hard work and thrives best when productive in a harmonious, compassionate environment. She currently resides with her life partner in the beautifully culturally energetic county of Queens, NY.
