What you will learn

All instruments get involved in improvising! Players learn a jazz standard together then explore the world of improvising over chord changes and in longer solo sections.

Group Setting

Students are in a supportive group environment to allow safe exploration without the nerves of being on stage as a performer.

Repertoire

Students explore music in all jazz genres - bebop, post-bop, latin and Brazilian jazz.

Performance

The jazz ensemble is invited to play at multiple events throughout the semester for Bloomingdale's community.
