What you will learn
Students are introduced to the music through storytelling, personal and physical experience. This is a hands on approach to music theory in which students can say, in Dalcroze’s own words, “I know, because I have experienced.”
Physical Experience
Students begin by sequentially feeling, identifying, vocalizing, and visualizing music.
Music Theory
Through these techniques tempo, melody, rhythm patterns, phrase, and meter will be studied.
Music Moves
Through movement, students embody and develop a deeper understanding of the energy of music.
