Join us for an afternoon of Brazilian Choro music with Bloomingdale guitar faculty Gabriele Leite and guest artist Nicolas Porto, a Brazilian guitarist and current DMA student at Stony Brook University.
In this special concert, Gabriele and Nicolas will perform a guitar duet program centered on Choro repertoire, exploring the vibrant rhythms, lyrical melodies, and spirited musical dialogue that define one of Brazil’s most beloved instrumental traditions.
Often described as the “soul” of Brazilian popular music, Choro blends virtuosity, improvisation, elegance, and joy, creating a sound that is both deeply expressive and irresistibly alive.
