This program celebrates the intimacy and emotional depth of Franz Schubert’s music, evoking the atmosphere of the nineteenth-century Viennese salon where his works were often shared among friends. Beloved songs and instrumental works explore longing, contemplation, passion, and joy, while Missy Mazzoli’s contemporary A Thousand Tongues briefly reframes those timeless emotions through a modern musical language. The evening culminates with selections from Schubert’s joyful and collaborative Trout Quintet.
