Brahms Trio, Step by Step

Late in his life, Johannes Brahms was inspired by clarinetist Richard Mühlfeld to return to chamber music, creating works of remarkable contrapuntal and textural complexity. This program builds the musical texture step by step, beginning with solo piano, expanding to cello and piano, and culminating with Brahms’s Clarinet Trio, Op. 114 for clarinet, cello, and piano.
