The Bloomingdale Jazz Voice Ensemble is an opportunity for both new and experienced vocalists to acquire and develop the fundamental practice and performance skills necessary to sing jazz and jazz-adjacent/Black American Music (BAM) music.

What you will learn

In this choir, you will sharpen your sight singing skills, learn how to hear and sing intricate harmonies, and get comfortable singing different styles from the jazz genre.

Building Blocks

Students will learn how to skat, swing and harmonize with their peers.

Repertoire

Students will learn music different styles including swing, hardbop, bossa nova, and post modern jukebox.

Performance

Students will have the opportunity to perform for peers, family members and community mulitple times a semester.
