Cello for Children

This class provides an excellent introduction to the study of the cello in a supportive group class setting. Students will learn how to hold the instrument and the bow, the rudiments of music reading, basic rhythms, and, of course, how to make music with other players.

Ideal for elementary school students who are beginners in cello.

What you will learn

Students will learn how to hold the instrument and the bow, the rudiments of music reading, basic rhythms, and, of course, how to make music with other players.

BUILDING BLOCKS

Students will be introduced to musical skills including singing, note and rhythm reading.

Repertoire

Students will learn folk, popular and classical songs on their instrument.

Interpersonal Skills

Students will work together, learn together, and help one another as they come across musical challenges together.
