Afternoon Music Makers
Looking for an after school, after nap (and snack) music class?
This class is designed for children to explore and discover the joy of music. Through the use of various songs, simple rhythmic patterns, movement, games, storytelling through music, and hands-on instrument playing children will be introduced to the building blocks of music and song. Children will explore instruments ranging from small percussion and drums to xylophones, glockenspiels, ukuleles and more!
*This class does not require a parent or caregiver in attendance.

What you will learn
Children will be led in singing songs, rhythmic movement games, improvisational jam sessions, and instrument show and tell! Music literacy is gained through learning basic note recognition, dynamics, tempo, the G clef, and singing solfege.

Ages 3-4 without Parent/Caregiver:
Tuesdays: 2:00-2:45pm
Ages 3.5-5 without Parent/Caregiver:
Wednesdays 3:45-4:30pm
Ages 4.5 - 6 without Parent/Caregiver:
Fridays 3:30-4:15pm
Ages 5.5-7 without Parent/Caregiver:
Wednesdays 4:30pm-5:15pm
Music literacy through games
Children will play a number of games that help children recognize and write rhythms; understand solfege; identify the lines and spaces on the G clef, and more!
Hands on instrument exploration
Children play many instruments during the course of the semester, including: Barred percussion instruments, simple stringed instruments, small and large percussion, world music instruments and more!
SOCIAL INTERACTION
classes are designed for children to work with each other in a cooperative manner by playing in ensembles, improvising together, sharing and taking turns, which helps to create empathy and sense of community.
