Who doesn’t love making music with others? Joining an ensemble is a great way to improve your musical skills, meet new people, and have a lot of fun. Being part of an ensemble can help you gain confidence in playing as well as learning new songs and arrangements. It provides a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with others to create an exciting and dynamic performance. In addition, rehearsing together is great practice for performances and can lead to greater musical achievement.

STRINGS

Joining a string ensemble is an incredibly rewarding experience! Not only do you get to work as part of a collaborative musical unit, but you’ll have the opportunity to play in settings both large and small and share your talent with others. Discover all the wonderful features of this activity here! Depending on the ensemble, they are available to string, brass, woodwind, and percussion students.

JAZZ

Rehearsing with a jazz ensemble can be an exciting and rewarding experience, focusing on intonation closely tied to tuning and musicality, is a key element in any ensemble piece, but it’s especially important in jazz.  Students will work together in ensemble to build up repertoire, improvisation skills and learn classic jazz form. Playing music from around the globe and exploring the elements of jazz music. 

VOCAL

Strengthen your music skills, build friendships, and have fun – join a choir! Just like mastering a musical instrument, singing in a choir can help you build more confidence and comfort with your notes. Group singing is a great and effective way to practice your music theory, too. As you’re learning the parts and accompanying others, you’ll gain invaluable skills that you can take into your solo performance career. 

TRUMPET, GUITAR, FLUTE

Looking for challenges, mental wellness, and team bonding? Join an ensemble and gain all these plus more! Participants will refine their skills in a group setting with an ensemble of their fellow instrumentalists: Flute, Trumpet, and Guitar ensembles are available for all skill levels. Flute Choir meets online only.
