Erika S. Floreska, Executive Director
The Bloomingdale School of Music Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Erika S. Floreska has accepted our offer to become Bloomingdale School of Music’s next Executive Director. Erika will begin working at BSM on July 28, coordinating with Interim Director B.J. Adler to effect a smooth transition.
Erika brings over twenty years of experience in senior executive leadership in the arts. She served for fourteen years as the Director of Education at Jazz at Lincoln Center, where she managed a comprehensive portfolio of programs and resources that annually reached more than 50,000 students, teachers, and listeners of all ages. A number of the programs initiated during her tenure are recognized as national models. Erika has most recently served as Executive Director of the Tectonic Theater Project, where she has provided internal structure and an expanded public presence. Most importantly for us, Erika is a passionate advocate for music education and a professional musician who holds two degrees in flute performance. She comes from a long line of musicians, is married to a former music educator and has two children, both of whom excel at multiple instruments. We believe she is the perfect fit for our remarkable school as it celebrates its 50th Anniversary and plans for the future.
