Percussion Festival

Percussion Festival: Saturday, 6/7/14

On Saturday, June 7, 2014, Bloomingdale will present the Percussion Festival, its final festival of the year. The event is led by its dedicated percussion faculty, Jeremy Noller and Eric Phinney.

The festival will begin at 2pm with a recital of solos and small ensembles. A brief reception will occur during the intermission of the concerto. The day will end with a percussion ensemble featuring BSM faculty and Music Access Student performers.

A feature of the festival will be music for marimba. Student performances will showcase a wide range of music for the modern marimba, while a special faculty performance will feature an ancestral marimba from Ghana West Africa called the Gyil or the Balafon.
