Group Trial Week - Sign Up Today!

Curious about classes? Try them first! Sign up January 8–28 and trial up to two classes for just $25. It’s the perfect low-pressure way to experience Bloomingdale’s inspiring faculty and supportive community. Classes will be held the first week of the semester, February 5th - 14th.

Curious about learning music at Bloomingdale? Our Group Trial Week makes it easy to find the right fit. From January 8–28, sign up to try up to two group classes for just $25 and see what makes Bloomingdale’s faculty, community, and teaching approach so special.

Sign ups close on January 28, so don’t wait! Classes take place February 5 – 14, during the first week of our Spring 2026 semester. Scroll down to get started!

Whether you’re honing your skills or curious to try a new instrument (rental instruments available), our diverse range of classes awaits you. We have group trial classes for early childhood, K-12, and adults for various classes in piano, violin, guitar, voice and much more! STEP 3:

RECEIVE CONFIRMATION FROM REGISTRATION

An email from the Registration Office will go out in the following days after you submit your form. If there is space in the class for an opportunity to trial, you will be sent a link to create an account with us.

*Please note by having you create an account with us, we will be able to contact you in a more efficient way. Additionally, if we do not receive your payment 48-hours before your trial day, we will forfeit your spot and contact our waiting list.

This class nurtures the developmental, social, and emotional growth of all children, offering an inclusive environment for every learner.

Friday, February 6th – 3:30 PM

Our most popular afternoon early childhood program with age-appropriate groups for children ages 3 to 7 years.

Introduction to Dalcroze

Sunday, February 8th – 10:00 AM

A movement-based music class to build a rhythmic understanding and learn the fundamentals of musical expression.

Dalcroze Eurhythmics

Sunday, February 8th – 10:45 AM

A movement-based program for ages 3 to 4 where children build rhythm and musical understanding through Dalcroze eurhythmics.

Dalcroze Eurhythmics

Sunday, February 8th – 11:30 AM

A movement-based program for ages 4 to 5 where children build rhythm and musical understanding through Dalcroze eurhythmics.

Dalcroze for Ages 5 - 7

Sunday, February 8th – 12:15 PM

Feel the music in your body and gain musicality in a natural way. Children ages 5 – 7 enjoy playtime using their movements with music.

Our most popular afternoon early childhood program with age-appropriate groups. This class for ages 5.5 – 7 features an Orff Ensemble focus.

Preschool Musical Mornings

Saturday, February 14th – 11:30 AM

A morning music class for preschoolers that blends singing, movement, and instruments to build foundational musical skills and confidence.

Keyboard for Children

Thursday, February 5th – 3:15 PM

A beginner class where young students learn foundational keyboard skills through simple pieces, rhythmic exercises, and early music-reading practice.

Saxophone for Children

Thursday, February 5th – 3:30 PM

A beginner class where children develop early saxophone skills through tone production, simple melodies, and foundational music-reading.

Guitar for Children

Thursday, February 5th – 4:15 PM

A beginner class where children learn fundamental guitar skills through basic chords, simple melodies, strumming technique and steady practice habits.

Voice for Children

Tuesday, February 10th – 3:30 PM

Children build foundational vocal skills through healthy breathing, clear tone production, simple songs and steady practice habits.

Brazilian Guitar Repertoire

Thursday, February 5th – 6:30 PM

Students explore traditional and contemporary Brazilian guitar repertoire under the guidance of Gabriele Leite, an expert Brazilian guitarist.

Introduction to Piano/Keyboard

Monday, February 9th – 6:00 PM

Participants gain essential piano/keyboard skills through approachable pieces, focused technique work, and early music-reading practice.

Introduction to Singing

Tuesday, February 10th – 1:00 PM

This class helps adults develop healthy vocal habits and confidence through structured exercises and accessible repertoire.

An instrument will be provided to the student for the class time and returned at the end. Should you be interested in enrolling in the class and would like to rent an instrument, please contact Veronica Carpenter at vcarpenter@bsmny.org

Unfortunately, no. The number of seats in our classes are limited. You should be notified within one week of your submission if you are invited to attend the class or if the class is at capacity. If you were not reached, please email registrar@bsmny.org and let us know!
