Brazilian Guitar Repertoire Class
Bloomingdale’s Brazilian Guitar Repertoire class is designed to accommodate a wide range of ages and skill levels. The course explores Brazilian music from various regions, featuring styles such as choro, samba, forró, bossa nova, MPB, and folk traditions. Students will engage with a diverse repertoire, including original works and arrangements adapted for duos, trios guitar and guitar ensemble formats.

What you will learn
Students will participate in regular ensemble rehearsals sessions focused on Brazilian repertoire. The course includes opportunities for semester-end performances in group settings. Additionally, guest artist masterclasses will provide insights into authentic Brazilian styles and professional performance practices, offering a deeper connection to the music and culture.
Brazilian Guitar Techniques & Styles
Learn the essential techniques and rhythmic patterns that define genres like choro, samba, forró, and bossa nova, building a strong stylistic foundation.
Repertoire & Interpretation
Explore a curated selection of solo and ensemble pieces—from traditional folk tunes to MPB and original compositions—developing your musical expression and versatility.
