SUMMER WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN & TEENS
Summer Pop/Rock Week
During this summer program, students will form a band, create their own arrangements of songs, and even write original songs together. Each day includes jam sessions, group rehearsals, songwriting time, and a GarageBand Lab. This program is all about making music in a relaxed, fun setting. Come ready to play, create, make new friends, jam, and have a blast!
The week will be conducted at Bloomingdale School of Music, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
*An extended day option is available from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. for an additional $150. Please reach out to the front office at registrar@bsmny.org to express interest in this option.

What you will learn
In this class, you’ll learn how to collaborate musically with others, arrange and perform songs as a group, and explore your own creativity through original ideas and improvisation.
TEAMWORK
Learn how to listen, communicate, and play as part of a band—supporting each other while creating a cohesive sound.
Repertoire
Learn and arrange a variety of songs together, from familiar favorites to student-selected tunes and original ideas.
GARAGE BAND (MUSIC PRODUCTION)
Learn the basics of digital music recording and production using iPads. Experiment with loops, virtual instruments, and effects, and create your own recordings to bring your band’s sound to life.
Performance
Gain experience performing as a group in a supportive setting, with opportunities to showcase your band’s work.

Our goal is to make music education accessible and to remove the financial barrier that may prevent students from participating. Therefore, we offer need-based financial aid to as many students as possible.
