Rachel Black (she/her) is an arts leader, producer, and educator with more than two decades of experience building innovative cultural programs, supporting artists, and expanding access to the arts in New York City.
Most recently, Rachel served as Director of Greenwich House Music School, where she developed community-based partnerships with New York City public schools, older adult centers, and neighborhood organizations to make arts education more accessible and responsive to community needs. She also launched Healing HeArts, a drama therapy program for children in partnership with Greenwich House’s Center for Resiliency and Wellness, and co-founded Uncharted, a concert series and artist residency that has provided creative space, mentorship, and direct support to nearly 100 artists for over a decade.
Prior to Greenwich House, Rachel was General Manager of Central Park SummerStage, New York City’s largest free performing arts festival. There she oversaw all major operational initiatives, expanded strategic partnerships and revenue-generating events, including the Good Morning America Summer Concerts series, and curated the festival’s literary and comedy programming.
A graduate of the American Conservatory Theater’s MFA program, Rachel began her career as a professional actor, working in film, television, and theater. Some credits include Michael Clayton, Inside Man, The Bourne Legacy, Men in Black 3, and Law & Order, as well as performances with the Atlantic Theater Company, McCarter Theatre Center, Magic Theatre, and American Conservatory Theater. She is a member of SAG-AFTRA and Actors’ Equity Association.
