Broadway Ensemble
Step into the Spotlight and join the Broadway Ensemble! Members ages 14-19 will learn how to bring characters to life, sing with ease and authentic style, sharpen audition skills, and discover the rich history and songs of the stage. Students will be matched with singers of a similar level to perform scenes from the classic and modern musical theater repertoire.
Ideal for high school students who want group singing experience and solo opportunities.

What you will learn
Ensemble members will refine character development, cultivate stylistic musical-theater singing, and enhance audition skills while exploring the repertoire and historical traditions of the genre. A basic ability to match pitch is required, and music-reading proficiency is helpful though not mandatory. Prior experience in musical theater is not required.
Audition Prep
Members will get personalized repertoire assignments, healthy singing instruction, practice strategies and materials, audition techniques for both in-person and video submissions and the opportunity to participate in mock auditions, masterclasses, and BSM’s performance competition.
MUSICAL THEATER SCENE STUDY
Members will explore musical theater scenes, receive personalized direction to strengthen vocal and acting technique in a supportive and professional environment where students can grow as well-rounded performing artists. Past repertoire includes scenes from: Hair, Songs for a New World, Jekyll & Hyde, Ragtime, Guys & Dolls, and more.
PERFORMANCE
Broadway Ensemble is a musical theater workshop designed for high school students eager to refine their performance skills culminating in multiple performance opportunities both at BSM and throughout the Upper West Side.
