Beginning or returning to music is an excellent idea for adults of any age. Adults can learn as beginners, improve as experienced musicians, or simply play with others and enjoy the art of making music. Introduction to Piano/Keyboard

Participants gain essential piano/keyboard skills through approachable pieces, focused technique work, and early music-reading practice.

Introduction to Singing

This class helps adults develop healthy vocal habits and confidence through structured exercises and accessible repertoire.

Brazilian Guitar Repertoire

Students explore traditional and contemporary Brazilian guitar repertoire under the guidance of Gabriele Leite, an expert Brazilian guitarist.

Guitar Ensemble

Guitarists collaborate on arranged works that strengthen ensemble awareness, refine technique, and build performance confidence.

Online Flute Choir

An online ensemble where flutists rehearse and perform arranged works together while building tone, technique, and ensemble skills.

Pop/Rock Ensemble

Young musicians learn to rehearse, collaborate, and perform as a band through pop and rock repertoire. For ages 14 and up.

Online Adult Jazz Ensemble

Musicians rehearse remotely while advancing improvisation skills, rhythmic precision, and ensemble communication through jazz standards.

Adult Jazz Ensemble (In-Person)

Players work together in a traditional rehearsal setting to deepen their understanding of jazz style, harmony, and improvisation. Led by Director of Jazz Studies, Daniel Bennett.

Jazz Vocal Ensemble (Ages 14+)

Young and experienced singers explore jazz style, harmony, and improvisation while developing confidence as collaborative performers.

Music Appreciation Series

Bloomingdale Resident Teaching Artist, Marc Peloquin, leads a series of 4-week music courses designed to give students a basic understanding of music and inspire an appreciation for music through a variety of musical styles.

Advanced Orchestra Program

Seasoned musicians tackle challenging orchestral repertoire that broadens technique, enriches musical interpretation, and cultivates strong ensemble cohesion. Rehearsals begin on April 28, 2026.

BEYOND MUSIC CLASSES

Whether just a beginner or rekindling a past passion, our teachers guide adults through instruction. We offer options beyond group classes, which includes ensembles and private lessons.

ADULT MUSIC ENSEMBLES

Adults who want to play music with other musicians have opportunities to join ensembles. If you have previous experience, our ensembles program is the perfect chance to get back into playing, enjoy making music, and creating new friendships.

ADULT PRIVATE LESSONS

For those who want a more personalized approach to learning, private lessons are a great option. Our skilled faculty will help any student reach his/her goals no matter how big or small. If unable to make a long-term commitment, there is option for six lessons, which can be scheduled based on availability.
