Online Music Theory 302
Music Theory is a hands-on investigation of the fabric of music, leading to greater musical fluency and a deeper appreciation of its inner structure.
Music Theory 302 continues from the previous semester, but new students with prior experience are welcome to join with a faculty placement assessment.

What you will learn
Bloomingdale’s small theory classes can be arranged for three to six students and are grouped based on their ages and years of music experience. For this Level III Theory class, we learn:
Master Advanced Time Signatures
Dive into complex rhythms like cut time, 3/8, and 6/8 to sharpen your timing and expand your musical versatility.
Unlock Chord Inversions
Explore harmony through chord inversions and figured bass, building a deeper understanding of how music works.
Create Progressions with Triads
Learn to construct triads and basic chord progressions, forming the foundation for creating and analyzing sophisticated music.
