Resident Teaching Artist; Director of the Bloomingdale Training Program (Piano); BSM Archivist
Pianist Monica Verona has been a Resident Teaching Artist at Bloomingdale since 1999. She received her B.A., M.M., D.M.A., and Performer’s Certificate Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Salzburg-Mozarteum, Northern Illinois University, and the Manhattan School of Music Primary studies with Naomi Zaslav, Ada Kopetz-Korf, Karl Ulrich Schnabel, the Fine Arts Quartet, the Vermeer Quartet. Monica has performed in New York, Milwaukee, Chicago, and Salzburg.
At Bloomingdale she serves as the Artistic Director of the Piano Project Annual Concerts, the Director of Piano Studies, the Director of the Bloomingdale Training Program (Piano Division), and the BSM Archivist. She is the author of “History of the Bloomingdale School of Music” which will be published in 2025. Monica also serves as President of the Mu Phi Epsilon – New York City Alumni Chapter and has received awards from the National Federation of Music Clubs, the Ida Schroeder Foundation, Mu Phi Epsilon, and Marquis Who’s Who.
