BSM Student finishes in Top 10 on X Factor

BSM student, Khaya Cohen, finishes in top 10 on X Factor

Bloomingdale student Khaya Cohen finished in the top 10 contestants on the hit TV show, the X-Factor. Only 16 years old, Khaya competed in front of a judging panel including Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland, and Paulina Rubio.

Khaya first started taking voice lessons last year with former faculty member Johanna Young, and now studies voice with Christine Browning and guitar with Matt Buttermann. Though she credits blues and jazz legends Etta James, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Aretha Franklin as her main influences, you can often catch her listening to Macklemore, the Strokes, and the Beatles.
