WHAT IS PERFORMATHON?
Performathon is a student-driven fundraising campaign which supports Bloomingdale’s scholarship fund. Students begin fundraising online and in person beginning on May 8. The campaign culminates in a marathon day of live performances at the school (“Performathon”). All are welcome to join us on site for the performances, BBQ, and crafts for kids.
We believe all people who want to study music should have access! Help support Bloomingdale’s Scholarship Program and Financial Aid Program, the core of our mission to provide open access to quality music education.
WHY DO WE DO PERFORMATHON?
Music for All! We work with our students to eliminate barriers to quality music education. Over the past decade alone, Bloomingdale has awarded more than $2 million in tuition assistance and aided thousands of families. Our annual Performathon is a way for Bloomingdale students to support each other by raising funds for our scholarship and financial aid programs.

Students who raise the most will receive:
- First Prize – Apple iPad Pro 11-inch, 512GB
- Second Prize – Nintendo Switch
- Third Prize – Electric Scooter (ordered for size after the event)
- Fourth Prize – Apple watch

Students who raise $50 – $500+ will receive:
- $50-$99 – Baseball Cap
- $100-499 – T-Shirt

How to Participate

- Share your fundraising page with friends and family. Win prizes and BSM swag!
- Come to BSM on June 3 for live performances & BBQ!

HOW TO CREATE YOUR FUNDRAISING PAGE
- Click on “I Want to Fundraise for Performathon”
- Create an account, fill in your information and post a photo and/or video performance. You can write about why you love music and BSM on your page and why you want others to have the opportunity to study music too!
- Share your personal fundraising page with friends and family and ask them to donate to sponsor your performance. Share your page through social media too!
- Sign up to perform live at BSM on Sat, June 3rd.
HOW TO UPLOAD A VIDEO
A short video is an effective way to engage with your audience and increase donations for your cause! It tells a compelling story, showcases your impact, and has a powerful “call-to-action”. Shareable on many social platforms, it can attract new donors and inspire action. Here’s how to do it:
- Video record yourself performing a short piece (that you’ve prepared with your BSM teacher) and post it to your personal fundraising page.
- If you don’t have a youtube channel, email the video to performathon@bsmny.org and we’ll send you the link to share your video directly on your fundraising page.
