Welcome Letter from Bloomingdale’s Executive Director, Erika Atkins – Fall 2025 Semester
Dear Bloomingdale Families,
As we begin a new year together, I want to extend a heartfelt welcome. For some of you, Bloomingdale is already a familiar home where you or your children have grown over the years. For others, this may be your first season with us, and we are so glad you’ve joined our community. Whether you are a young beginner, an adult student, or a family returning for another chapter, you are part of something special: a place where music connects, inspires, and brings us together.
We know there are many places where you could be spending your time and resources, especially in a moment when families and individuals are navigating so much. Choosing Bloomingdale is no small thing, and we are deeply grateful that you continue to place your trust in us. That trust inspires us to keep our commitment strong, ensuring that access, quality, and community remain at the heart of all we do.
As with every new year, this season brings change as well as opportunity. Together we will find new ways to learn, grow, and create, while holding fast to what makes Bloomingdale so special: the sense of home, belonging, and joy in music-making that never wavers.
In the months ahead, you will see us focus on what matters most: creating an environment where every student is challenged, supported, and inspired. Our faculty are ready to help each person grow not only as musicians, but also as confident, creative individuals.
Thank you for choosing to learn and grow with us, for being partners in this journey, and for making Bloomingdale a living example of what happens when a community comes together around music. I look forward to seeing you at lessons, concerts, and gatherings throughout the year.
With gratitude and excitement,
Erika Atkins
